‘Locomotion’ and ‘Doors’ - Two
Poems
~ Lillian Brummet
Locomotion
Locomotion keeps me moving through the confusing compulsive waves of life.
And, lost in this rush, I consume and exhaust myself for the unknown.
Feeling awfully tired I pause to look in at my routines in disgust.
And a desperate yearning to escape beyond the maze and into self-sufficiency
arises.
Doors
I had always thought the world was so cruel,
Never realizing I have always shut, and opened my own doors.
Fears, reservations; past or present experiences; paranoia
Have all twisted my fate,
And I succumbed to it.
I now know all experiences, good or bad,
Whether I considered them failures or accomplishments,
Have been learning experiences; lessons.
I have soul searched for several years,
Always growing - creating a yearning to grow more.
All those faces…
Curtains dropping down with each experience,
Learned ways of dealing with life,
Separating me from it.
Choices; opportunities influenced by emotions…
I don’t want to live carrying baggage,
Or leave too many doors unopened.
~ Lillian Brummet
