There is truly nothing more powerful than a circle of women!

The first women’s circle I attended was 18 years ago on September 21, the Fall Equinox. It was in the middle of a forest, and was the first time I ‘met’ the Goddess Persephone, who I learned had lived inside of me all of my life.

It was the most enlightening spiritual revelation of my life. I was finally able to embrace that flux in my life between the depths of darkness where I would reside for months on end, then suddenly be ‘rescued’ by the light. Now 50, I am happy to say that I have finally found the strength of Demeter, the Earth Mother, giving me the strength and courage to help me find the light in my darkness.

Besides bringing me the inner peace that eluded me for most of my life, the women’s circle also brought me to my passion, helping other women (and children) who were battered and homeless. In being a part of the women’s circle at this shelter, I watched many women find their own power and learn the mystery: "... For if that which you seek you find not within, you will never find it without ..." (Starhawk, The Charge of the Goddess)

Through other women, we can constantly rediscover ‘the mystery.’
