OUR STORIES: UNIQUE AND UNIVERSAL
“In sharing each other’s
stories, we feel the common human bonds that unite us.”
-- Linda Leonard
It never
ceases to amaze me how deeply I connect with the personal
stories you send me. Each one reflects unique and precious
attributes of the author. And each one speaks a greater truth
that resonates in some way inside me as my truth. How wondrous
this paradox of being an individual and all-as-one at the very
same time!
Consider
this tiny excerpt from Kathie Sutherland’s story, ‘The
Vagabond’s Life.’ Do you see yourself in it, as I do?
~ Patrice
“This is a
fairy tale story of a princess waiting her whole life to be
rescued and cared for by a prince, and who is constantly
disappointed by misuses of power, disrespect and abuse. It is a
story of an internal witch who poisons self-esteem and
confidence with self-hatred and who beats with verbal sticks.
This is an ongoing story of empowerment; the story of a girl who
longs to know herself as a self-responsible woman full of beauty
and grace.”
~ Kathie
Sutherland
“To me there is no
difference between one person and another; I behold all as
soul-reflections of the one God. I can’t think of anyone as a
stranger, for I know that we are all part of the One Spirit.”
-- Paramahansa
Yogananda
“There is in all visible
things … a hidden wholeness.”
-- Thomas Merton
