One of the best gifts I have received is life. All 73 years of it. Everything, the good, the bad and the ugly, has been not only a gift but a learning experience.

Each time I travel back in time I am amazed how it all fell into place. Naturally there are still missing pieces just as there will always be. It is the missing pieces that keep us coming back for more.

I well know once I go around this bend in the road another one, possibly more sharp, will be waiting for mE. No guard rails to keep from going over the edge because life does not come with guard rails.

No one is promised a rose garden or a free ride. Life can and will take advantage of you regardless of how much insurance you buy. How we find our way leads to the outcome of our story.

We are each a complex mystery. Everyone reads us differently. The most important thing is how we read ourselves. How much do we know about that person behind the face looking back at us from a mirror? I have heard mirrors do not lie. From the wrinkles I have been finding lately, I am beginning to believe my mirror knows mE all too well.

Once we are here other gifts will follow. Miracles will happen. Events will take place. We will grow into our skin. Develop a personality. Discover likes and dislikes. None of which can happen without the gift of life.

After my experience first hand with my husband’s transplant, there can be no doubt in my mind that life is the most special gift of all.......
