FREEDOM FROM SELF IMPROVEMENT!
"We must never seek to change ourselves
because we do not like ourselves. If that is the motivation, we
will choose more of what we are trying to move away from.
Change, to be beneficial, must be based on an acceptance of what
is and a vision of what is possible and potential, which are
soul realities. In this way we do not expend energy trying to
move away from something - which is not possible because it is
within us - but expend our energy pursuing what we dream of.
This is what the universe supports and what our soul delights
in."
-- Andrew Schneider
Good day!
Jen Louden is once again promoting International Freedom from
Self-Improvement Week and I'm behind her 100%. The world would
be much happier if we could simply be content with who we are --
an essential first step to opening to the true magnificence of
our being. I invite you to benefit from Jen's leadership. Here's
her most recent Self-Care Minder.
Self-improvement is a tricky business. In fact, it
can be life threatening.
Let me explain what I mean.
It's September, and as summer draws to a close and school
begins, many of us can feel the flush of "new beginnings" and
the urge to try something new.
Perhaps you want to eat in a new way, move your body more,
write daily, organize all your summer photos, clean out some
clutter...
GREAT!
Except beware the idea that by, say, eating more veggies and
whole grains, you will finally be "good enough."
You will finally arrive in that mythical place of having it
all together, of being all together.
And in this mythical place, which you had to earn, you are
now free to be who you are, want what you want, and do what you
want.
You can breathe, you can create, you get to choose your life,
once you earn it.
NO!
This is the nasty, eat-at-your-soul self-improvement I'm out
to stop with International Freedom from Self-Improvement Week --
a celebration of your essential goodness and the truth you don't
have to earn or accomplish anything to prove your worth.
It starts on Monday
here.
It's free.
Sign up to get the goodies I post at my blog in your email
box
here.
I look forward to sharing my ideas and freeing resources with
you!
~ Jennifer Louden
"I wish you freedom from the tyranny of
forced change,
the blessing of loving exactly who you are.
You are essential goodness;
and thus nothing
must be done,
nothing must be improved.
What will you create in this vast field of goodness?"
