“My soul is a broken field
plowed by pain.”
-- Sara Teasdale
Oh help! I am so stressed
today.
This isn’t new, but today,
I’m approaching it in a new way. Today, I am willing to really
feel the tension, the welling of tears behind my eyes. I accept
that I am in pain and I allow myself to be there. No attempts to
fight it off. No condemnation that I shouldn’t be feeling this
way. Just a willingness to be authentically where I am.
I breathe deeply, opening
to my experience. The tears flow. With more and more deep
breaths, the tension eases. There's still a heaviness but the
energy is moving again. This too shall pass.

“Suffering is part of the
human condition. It needs to be held in the same way that joy
and uplift need to be held – wakefully, as a mature adult.”
