EMBRACING THE ORDINARY
“There are no
ordinary moments.”
-- Dan
Millman
The
albatross I have carried around my neck for most of my life --
the belief that I’m not good enough -- still whispers to me,
catching me off guard, trying to convince me that I’m frittering
away my time and wasting my life.
Fortunately, more and more lately, my higher self whispers back,
reassuring me that all is fine, that I don’t have to prove
anything to anyone, myself included.
As a
reminder, I pull out the ‘Ordinariness’ card from the Osho Zen
Tarot deck. And I reflect on Osho’s words: “Beauty can be found
in the simple, ordinary things of life. We so easily take this
beautiful world we live in for granted. Cleaning the house,
tending the garden, cooking a meal -- the most mundane tasks
take on a sacred quality when they are performed with your total
involvement, with love, and for their own sake, without thought
of recognition or reward. ...
“This
easy, natural and utterly ordinary approach to the situations
you encounter will bring far better results than any attempt on
your part to be brilliant, clever, or otherwise extra-ordinary.
... The special gift you have to offer now is presented best by
just taking things easily and simply, one step at a time.”
~ Patrice
“There is no
scientific answer for success. You can’t define it. You’ve
simply got to live it and do it.”

“Achievement is
not the most important thing -- authenticity is.”
