Hi Everyone,

Aren't women amazing and wonderful? In my last message, I shared that my dear friend and mentor, Mair Smith, was dying. Shoshana Balatow emailed to let me know about the Threshold Choirs. From the Choirs' website, I drew this description:

"The all-women Threshold Choirs honor the ancient tradition of singing at the bedsides of people who are struggling: some with living, some with dying. The voice, as the original human instrument, is a true and gracious vehicle for compassion and comfort. The choirs provide opportunities for women to share the sacred gifts of their voices at life's thresholds."

The choir was formed 10 years ago by Kate Munger of California. Shoshana says there are now over 2000 women in 20 choirs around the U.S. and the world, ready to visit those in need, at no charge.

Unfortunately, there isn't yet a choir in our area but I want to let you know about this precious resource. Here's the Choirs' website . And you might be interested in watching a short and inspiring clip on YouTube.
